Just a normal week!
I thought it would be good to give everyone a sense of what a typical week is like for birds coming in to the rescue! so I will go back to last Monday and start there…
- Monday – took in 2 baby swallows
- Tuesday – Carrion crow came in
- Wednesday – Released the last 30 ducklings and took in 2 gulls
- Thursday – Took in a collared dove and a shearwater
- Friday – another gull
- Saturday – 2 swans, a cygnet from Llandrindod Wells and another from Merthyr, plus 2 woodpigeons
- Sunday – another swan, this one from Barry.
Maria commented ‘The cygnet from Llandrindod is so tiny and the parent birds had unfortunately attacked it so fingers crossed that it will be ok…’
As you can see, the need is not decreasing and birds are coming from all parts of South Wales! This is at considerable cost to the rescue and although we have been incredibly fortunate, in that the lovely Heather Lloyd left Tinker’s hill a bequest, (see blog called Thank You Heather) anything you lovely folks can do to help would be much appreciated. The link to donate is the green box. Thank you too!
Great to get an insight into the work Maria is doing. She is remarkable.
